Our story
A neighbourhood school, since 2015
Birsa Public School was established in 2015 on Tata Road (NH-33) at Purana Rampur, Ranchi. The idea was not complicated: a neighbourhood school, run honestly, where a child could be known by name rather than by roll number.
We are named for Birsa Munda, whose short life is a reminder that conviction matters more than convenience — a thing worth saying to fifteen-year-olds more than once a year.

- Teach the CBSE curriculum thoroughly, without reducing school to it.
- Keep classes small enough that no child can quietly disappear.
- Give sport, music and art protected time in the timetable.
- Hold staff and students to the same standard of honesty.
- Stay affordable to the families of the neighbourhood we serve.

Integrity first
We would rather a child hand in an honest failure than a borrowed success. Academic honesty is taught explicitly from Class IV.
Every child known
Class sizes are capped at 34 and each child has a mentor teacher who follows them for the full stage, not just the year.
Rooted in Jharkhand
Our calendar, our folk arts programme and our outreach are drawn from the region we belong to, not imported wholesale.
Curiosity over compliance
A quiet classroom is not automatically a good one. Teachers are appraised on the questions their students ask.
Partnership with parents
Three formal parent–teacher meetings a year, plus open office hours every Saturday morning without an appointment.
Service as habit
Every student from Class VI upward gives time to a community project. It is recorded, but never graded.
