Play-based and activity-led. No formal examinations. Reporting is descriptive, against observable milestones in language, number sense and motor skills.

Reading is the subject behind every other subject
Every class from I to VIII has a timetabled library period that is never reallocated, and every child from Class III keeps a reading log. Twenty minutes a night, in any language, of any book they choose.
Mathematics in the primary years is taught with concrete material before symbols — base-ten blocks, fraction tiles, measuring jugs. It is slower in September and considerably faster by February.
Homework is capped at thirty minutes a night up to Class V and forty-five to Class VIII. If a child regularly needs longer, we ask the parent to tell the class teacher: it usually means something in class was missed.
