About the school
A quiet, unhurried school in a noisy world
Birsa Public School was established in 2015 on Tata Road, Purana Rampur, and has served the families of this neighbourhood ever since. Our first principle is a simple one: a child learns best from an adult who has time for them.

A 300-metre track, football field, two basketball courts, table tennis hall and a covered yoga pavilion.

Twenty-two GPS-tracked buses on eighteen routes, each with a trained female attendant and CCTV.

Infirmary with a full-time nurse, a visiting doctor twice weekly, fire systems and campus-wide CCTV.

What has been happening
Independence Day
The flag was hoisted by the senior-most member of staff, followed by the junior school choir and a march-past by the four houses.
Vigyan Utsav science fair
Ninety-four working models across four themes; the Class VIII water-filtration project has been sent to the district round.
Annual Day — ‘Roots’
Six hundred children took part in a two-hour production tracing the folk traditions of Jharkhand.
Investiture ceremony
The new student council took office; the head girl and head boy read the school pledge before the assembly.
Inter-school athletics
Fourteen medals at the Ranchi district meet, including gold in the under-17 4×100 m relay.
State art competition
Two of our Class X students placed in the top ten of the Jharkhand state on-the-spot painting competition.
International Yoga Day
The whole school — staff included — took to the field at 6:30 am for a forty-minute session led by our yoga instructor.
Village outreach visit
Senior students spent a day at a neighbouring primary school, running reading circles and donating 400 books.
Each One Teach One
Class IX volunteers give ninety minutes a week to support younger children preparing for their examinations.
